FALCON2L PRO HIP PACK

Great upgrade from the original falcon 2! All the improvements are well thought out and arrived in time for our trip to Patagonia! Looking forward to good city walking around storage without a shoulder sling dragging me down and this fits perfectly to stow a light rain jacket on the outside or even water bottle. And a spot for all the day tourist and day hike essentials!

Love it. Why only 4/5 stars? It is awesome but not perfect. The quality of the materials an the small details are next level. You can carry it in different ways and it feels very good, even loaded up to its maximum capacity. But it can be challenging to open the zippers with one hand cause the small zipper is “hidden” under the beavertail and that is ok. But the main compartment is hard to open and access completely one handed while holding your dog with the other hand for example.

It’s a pretty nice hip pack. I thought I’d love the magnetic clasps for the wing but they easily come undone when I’m trying to grab the pack. the weight distribution is also interesting but it could be because I have it pretty full. It seems very forward heavy and not as compact as I’d like and at the same time feels too small. The materials are great and I really do love the additional improvements. We’ll see how long I end up using it before rotating out to another pack.

Overall great design but I have noticed the strap organization is lacking. I’ve used it since receiving the product and the strap loop that’s used to easily adjust the length also slides around too easily. If I wear it as a sling and switch between front to back carry, the strap tends to loosen and form a dangling loop which I have to readjust again. In that regard, moving the pack around is rather annoying.

The zippers are a bit clunky to use especially the middle compartment. As I close/open it, the zipper hits the corners of the clamshell design and gets caught. Every so often I have to use both hands to open the pack which is also annoying. I’m not sure if ykk zippers weren’t used due to budgeting purposes but the feel is noticeably different.

I also wish there was an extra buckle on the left for versatility of unbuckling the pack on either side. Also wish there was another D ring attachment on the Left side to attach more items but these are just my personal preferences.

I hope some of these points are taken into consideration for a version 2. Other than my 2 main issues with it, the pack is very well thought out.

The size of the falcon 2l pro is perfect for all of my edc needs and it works as a hip pack and crossbody bag equally well.
